👋 Hi, I’m Simone (siˈmo.ne, he/him). I’m a Italian mathematician, currently doing a PhD in Münster, Germany. Before that, I used to spend my time staring at the mountains behind the skyline of Torino.

👀 I’m interested in the interactions between model theory and algebra, especially in the form of valued fields with (isometric) endomorphisms. I like to think about fundamental questions around the elementary theories of these objects, like whether or not they satisfy some form of Ax-Kochen/Ershov principle.

🌱 Outside of mathematics, I’m interested in science communication, outreach and policy, speculative fiction (especially in the form of urban fantasy), and folklore. I have a weird affection for design and forms, in all forms, and can go on rants for minutes about terrible formatting.

Past outreach

Between 2020 and 2021, I was one of the members of Come Volevasi Divulgare, an Italian collective devoted to outreach in mathematics. We had a quite active Instagram page and contributed to a couple of science communication festivals. The project is now on hiatus.

On the 14th of November 2022 I was one of the guests of the Italian science communication project Meet Science.
